Historic Vehicle Gathering
Bill Barratt, Secretary of The East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club has organised this historic vehicle gathering for several years. Held traditionally on the first Sunday in July each year, it was originally intended as a joint gathering to retain our historic links with the West Riding branch of the Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club, and that is still the intention.
Bill first got to know this absolutely suburb venue when fellow member Neils Johansen made him aware of the Historic Vehicle Gathering held each June on Fathers Day by the English Heritage staff at Brodsworth Hall & Gardens.
That event is always well oversubscribed, and many would be entrants are left disappointed, as the venue can only hold about 230 cars & motor cycles.
Bill has attended that event for several years, almost always held in glorious sunshine, and is astonished by the quality of vehicles on display.
That was the catalyst for him to organise a joint event for the members of the EYTCC and YTCC. Described as Pace, Grace and Horsepower in this wonderful setting!
English Heritage who have been the custodians of Brodsworth Hall & Gardens for a number of years, were approached, and are only too pleased to host such an event, which has evolved in to an annual gathering, greatly enjoyed by all that have participated. There is also a Brass Band playing behind the Hall during the afternoon.

Turn off the A635 Barnsley Road in the village of Marr
If you want to avoid the motorways, from East Yorkshire follow the A614, A1041 to Snaith, A645 to the A19 at Whitley Bridge. South through Askern, and turn right through Carcroft to Adwick Le Street to Brodsworth.
